SPECIAL TOK LECTURE
Ms.Chrisann Almeida of the Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai visited Chinmaya International Residential School during the last week of November 2009 and delivered a special lecture on "How to write a good TOK essay?".
Ms.Chrisann Alemida is a practicing social psychologist who teaches Psychology, Theory of Knowledge for the IB classes and is an examiner in these subjects. She is the coordinator of an NGO named "Women's Desk". She has been quoted in numerous publications such as Times of India, Hindustan Times and has appeared in NDTV Good Times.
The lecture session introduced the students to the basic requirements of writing a TOK essay such as the understanding of the Assessment Criteria, dealing with Knowledge issues and linking to the Areas of Knowledge and Ways of Knowing. She highlighted the importance of including counterclaims and different cultural perspectives in the essay with appropriate evidences. Students found the session to be extremely informative and providing valuable tips on writing a good TOK essay.
