Vasant Panchami and the music of the Bhakti poets
After the Saraswati worship, the musician Smt. Vidhya Shah led a three-hour workshop on the Bhakti Movement in music.

On 23 January 2026 the school celebrated Vasant Panchami, the day dedicated to the worship of Goddess Saraswati, with reverence and devotion.
In the afternoon, the accomplished musician Smt. Vidhya Shah conducted a three-hour workshop on the Bhakti Movement in Music. She wove together devotion, history and melody, presenting the compositions of Namdev, Amir Khusro, Surdas and Kabir Das in a range of ragas.
Why it mattered
The day was planned so that students would understand the spiritual and cultural significance of Vasant Panchami and what the Bhakti Movement gave to Indian music and devotion, and would come to it through participation in the pooja and the workshop rather than as an audience alone.
The school records that the workshop deepened students' appreciation of Indian classical music, devotional traditions and the Bhakti Movement; encouraged reflection and an emotional connection through music; and inspired students to explore music as a means of self-expression and inner growth.
