Tamil New Year and Vishu were celebrated at CIRS on 14 April with enthusiasm, embracing the rich traditions and festive spirit of both occasions. The day began auspiciously as dorm parents led us, with our eyes closed, to experience the beautiful tradition of ‘Vishukkani’, symbolising hope, gratitude and abundance. Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, we gathered at noon to enjoy a sumptuous Sadhya with friends. The evening featured a special Aarti, soulful Tamil songs by the choir and graceful dance performances celebrating Tamil Nadu’s vibrant culture, fostering joy, togetherness and cultural appreciation.
