Shaishav Shiksha-II: five days for Foundation Years teachers
The CCMT Education Cell brought Foundation Years teachers to CIRS for an orientation in early childhood education.
From 1 to 5 December 2025, CIRS hosted Shaishav Shiksha-II, a five-day orientation organised by the CCMT Education Cell for Foundation Years teachers of Nursery to Class II.
The programme opened with flag hoisting and an inauguration by Swamini Supriyananda, followed by an overview from Smt. Shanti Krishnamurthy, Director, CCMTEC. Its sessions covered the Chinmaya Vision Programme and Early Childhood Education, the National Curriculum Framework, language development through storytelling, curriculum design, lesson planning, technology in early childhood education, and child and brain development. Experts and experienced educators led lectures, workshops and demonstration classes.
Drama, dance and movement, quizzes, games, campfire sessions and group interactions ran alongside the sessions, and walks, aarti and reflection gave each day its routine.
What it achieved
The programme set out to deepen teachers' understanding of early childhood education and child development, and to encourage values-based, child-centred teaching. The school records that participants left with a better grasp of child psychology and experiential learning, stronger skills in curriculum planning, lesson design and the use of technology, and approaches ready to take into their classrooms.
