Independence Day was marked by many events honoring the journey to August 15, 1947. The Crossroads Magazine held essay and photography contests, while the Cultural Department hosted a poetry contest, “Expression of Oppression,” on Partition’s horrors. The Youth Economic Initiative ran “Niti Nirman,” a policymaking contest. KTPI students led Bharat Run, with stations on freedom’s meaning, its modern expressions, and unsung freedom fighters. All students took the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” pledge.
